Student Organizations

Arts & Literature Society
The Arts & Literature Society is open to MSU students who love to read, create, think, and explore the world around them. All academic majors are welcome; all you need is an open mind, a passion for the arts, and a willingness to do and discuss new things. The Arts & Literature Society holds events for Banned Books Week, presents faculty lectures, poetry readings, writing workshops, and goes on semesterly museum trips to either Oklahoma City or the Metroplex. We also attend and participate in campus cultural events held in partnership with other departments and organizations. Email kirsten.lodge@msutexas.edu for more information.

MSU’s Beta Xi chapter welcomes students and community members interested in literature, language, creative writing, and the discipline of English to attend events and meetings. Active membership in this Honor Society requires an interest in English studies,

At the beginning of each spring semester (early March), the faculty advisor requests a list of eligible English Majors/Minors from the university. Based on this list, the advisor issues formal invitations by mail and e-mail. Interested students may email Hillary.coenen@msutexas.edu to inquire about membership eligibility and get more information. For more information, visit the group’s Instagram page.
