Welcome to the program!!
We know it can be confusing figuring out what courses to enroll in; especially if you are a new student. This page has been designed to try to help you understand your course options. The following may help you -
- Unclear as to which course(s) to take?
- First refer to your admission letter. If that letter said you need to take HSAD 5013, then that is the first course you need to enroll in. If you want to take an additional course or two refer to your degree plan.
- Check out the course description you are interested in to see if it has a pre-requisite.
- Check the registrar’s office to see the courses being offered each semester.
- If there are several courses available that you need and you want to make sure you take the 'right' ones – check the program's draft schedule.
- Not sure which degree plan is best for you?
- To help you make your mind up you might want to take a look at the job options available to administrators. We have a list located on our careers in Healthcare Administration page.
- Still not sure, two of our basic courses may help you make your choice – HSAD 5013 and HSAD 5103. Most of our core classes are required in all our degree plans so you don’t need to make a choice immediately. To see which courses are core courses go to the Program Overview page.
- How many courses should I take?
- We strongly advise students who also work full-time should not take more than two classes per semester until they adjust to the requirements of graduate courses, graduate courses often require more writing and research/reading than undergraduate courses.
- International students must enroll in at least nine credits.
