Snip It or Clip It
The MSU Texas Department of Mass Communication offers this opportunity for public and private school students to be recognized for their work published in scholastic media.  
 
ENTRANTS
Only students enrolled in public or private schools grades 7-12 are eligible. Home-schooled students and students enrolled in charter schools are eligible if the work meets the submission requirements.

AWARDS
Winning entries will be awarded certificates of superior, excellent or honorable mention by qualified scholastic journalism judges. Points from winning entries will be tallied to determine a sweepstakes school that will receive a wall plaque. The creator of winning entries will be recognized on social media and links to winning entries will be published online.
 
ELIGIBLE SUBMISSIONS
  • Entries must have been published in school-sponsored student media between Jan. 1, 2022 and Dec. 2, 2022. Yearbook entries should be from the 2021-2022 yearbook regardless of delivery date (spring, summer or fall). Each student may enter no more than two items per category. There is no limit to the number of entries per school.
  • All entries must be accompanied by a signed release that allows the submitted material to be posted through links or embeds in conjunction with awards on official MSU websites, on MSU social media and in MSU print media for up to six months. The copyright remains with the original holder of the copyright.
  • Print news, literary magazine and yearbook: Upload appropriately named PDF files (for story and design categories) or JPG (for photo categories). Only those file types will be accepted. The following file types will NOT be accepted: .DOC, .DOCX, .TIFF, .HEIC. Caption image for photos must be contained in the image’s metadata.
  • Online news: Make sure links are active (and will remain active for six months) and are public.
  • Broadcast: Upload videos to YouTube or Vimeo. Make sure links are active (and will remain active for six months) and are public.
 
HOW TO SUBMIT
  • Submission information will be available on or around Sept. 1, 2022.
  • Instructors must fill out the information form online on or before the deadline — Friday, Dec. 2, 2022.
  • All entries must be submitted online using the appropriate form.
