In Fall 2014, the department obtained permission to begin designing a new $7 million facility, and ground was broken in February 2016. The two-story D-wing of the Fain Fine Arts Center opened in Fall 2017 with 15,000 square feet. Features include a full television studio with multiple sets, a Mac lab for journalism/digital media, a broadcasting lab, a newsroom, a work-café, $1.4 million worth of new equipment, six editing bays, an audio booth, faculty offices and collaboration spaces.
