Responsible for assisting the Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs in all aspects of the institution’s accreditation process, programmatic accreditations, strategic planning, and compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).

Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance across the university for faculty and staff in designing and conducting meaningful, manageable, and effective assessment of student learning and periodic academic program reviews with a focus on continuous improvement. Support and coordinate the university’s efforts to ensure that it meets accreditation standards and complies with federal and state regulations. Serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Ensures compliance with relevant SACSCOC and programmatic accreditation standards and manages the preparation for accreditation reviews, and maintains accreditation status across the university. Coordinates with the Department of Institutional Effectiveness to maintain compliance with assessment activities across the entire university. Develops strategic planning initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and facilitates the updating of the university's strategic plan, including identifying key goals, objectives, and performance metrics related to student success, assessment, and accreditation. Ensures compliance with all THECB requirements and facilitates all submissions to the THECB. Responsible for making online course delivery ADA compliant.

Must exhibit a record of successful college teaching and service to the department, college, and university, as well as, hold a scholarly or creative activity record sufficient for appointment to the faculty at the level of Associate Professor. Must have at least 5 years’ experience in coordinating/facilitating accreditations processes. Prior experience working with accreditation agencies such as Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Experience with state governing authorities such as the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Familiarity with technologies commonly used in assessment and accreditation or experience with assessment management systems. Knowledge of institutional accreditation standards and best practices in the assessment of student learning. Ability to utilize appropriate data analysis and statistical techniques to analyze assessment and institutional data. Collaborative work and leadership style. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet established goals. Ability to attend to detail and ensure accuracy of data and reports

Doctorate or Terminal Degree required.

Must have good leadership and managerial skills and be able to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies. Must be detail oriented with strong skills in data analysis. Must have an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
