- Description
The Assistant Director, University Development for Advancement Services reports to the Assistant Vice President for Gift Planning and Development and works closely with the Vice President of University Advancement and Public Affairs. The Assistant Director is responsible for data integrity, database analytics, database maintenance and the input and output of data-related information within the database for both development and statistical purposes. The Assistant Director is responsible for the processing of all charitable contributions, gifts-in-kind, grants and pledges made to MSU in a timely and efficient manner. The Assistant Director provides information and analysis that helps to create, build and maintain donor relationships through research. The Assistant Director will also serve as a liaison with the Texas Tech University System regarding gift records, reports and procedures.
- Examples
Updates the donor and alumni database on a daily basis and ensures that gifts to the University are promptly acknowledged. Prepares and provides monthly reports to all departments and programs including reports for the Board of Regents. Conducts research on current and prospective donors to the University..
- Physical Condition
- Experience
Should be experienced in general office practices and procedures and be proficient in the use of Raiser’s Edge computer software program. Previous development or alumni relations experience preferred. Previous experience in prospect research is desired.
- Knowledge
Knowledge of standard practices and methods regarding the collection of data on individual alumni and donors. Knowledge in database maintenance, Microsoft Office Suite, Banner and Argos. Should be knowledgeable in best campaign reporting.
- Education
Bachelor’s degree required.
- Additional Requirements
Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must have working knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation and be able to work independently on difficult and complex assignments. Must also have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, and the public in general. Must be able to type and operate a desktop computer. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
