- Description
Reports to the Director of the Regional Simulation Center. Provides simulation-based nursing skills training for Midwestern State University and Vernon College students and United Regional Health Care System clinical staff.
- Examples
Demonstrates nursing skills to simulation participants incorporating current standards of evidence-based practice in nursing. Facilitates individual and team performance of identified cognitive and psychomotor skills in a variety of simulated clinical healthcare settings according to guidelines established by healthcare simulation standards. Communicates with nursing faculty as necessary about participant performance in simulation-based activities. Collaborates with nursing faculty to develop scenarios and simulation-based activities. Maintains simulation center inventory and scenario supplies in an organized, clean and orderly condition. Cleans and maintains simulators, equipment and supplies. Assembles and disassembles scenario supplies for scheduled simulation activities

- Experience
Current licensure in the State of Texas required. Formal or informal teaching experience desirable
- Knowledge
Must have recent, advanced knowledge in the nursing field; be thoroughly familiar with clinical practice guidelines and standards of evidence-based practice in nursing. Must be competent in the use of personal computers and commonly used office software programs.
- Education
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Additional Requirements
Strong clinical skills required. Must be able to collaborate effectively with simulation staff and nursing faculty to facilitate simulation-based activities. It is preferred that the staff member be willing pursue advanced training in simulation-based nursing education.
