Thriving in College: the First-year Experience at MSU Texas
At Midwestern State University, we know that starting college can be both exciting and challenging. That's why we've developed comprehensive and coordinated First-Year Experience programming to help our new students acclimate to college life. Starting with New Student Orientation and continuing through Mustangs Roundup, First-year Seminars, and Rising Sophomore Summit, students will be guided through the process of becoming an MSU Mustang—and learning how to achieve the most important goals of college: make good grades, and make good friends.

First-Year Experience Programs
Midwestern State University's First-Year Experience program offers a comprehensive set of resources and support designed to help new students succeed academically and personally.Tools for Success
We provide students with the tools they need to succeed. Two such tools are Navigate Student and MustangsLink. Navigate Student is a cloud-based support tool that helps students schedule appointments, find resources, and stay on top of their academics, while MustangsLink is MSU Texas' student involvement system that makes it easy for students to find and participate in the activities and events that interest them. These resources are just another way we help students make good grades and make good friends!Mustangs Link
MustangsLink is MSU Texas' student involvement system, designed to help students get involved on campus and manage their experiences outside the classroom. With a central calendar for student life, and groups for every registered student organization, residence hall, and living learning community on campus.
Navigate
Navigate Student is a cloud-based student support tool that allows university stakeholders to connect with students and use predictive analytics to identify potential roadblocks to graduation. This helps advisors, staff, and students stay on top of important deadlines and milestones, and ensures that students stay on track to meet their goals.
