Employers expect those holding a Geosciences M.S. to work independently to evaluate challenging data and provide expert conclusions through well-organized and professional communication. The research thesis remains the best route to mastering these skills. Completion requires a dedicated effort in defining a problem, acquiring data, analysis, and interpretation to produce rigorous findings that are shared through a public oral defense and through a written and illustrated volume.
