What is the Global Studies minor?

Global Studies focuses on the impact and issues created by globalization, including how individual regions and the international community are working to manage the problems of today. Global Studies minors can focus their studies on either a particular world region or the international system as a whole. There are courses in international politics, economics, global histories, and world languages. Credit is offered for internships and study abroad. This is a minor for students interested in careers in the public or private sector with a global focus.

 

Customize Your Minor

This minor is interdisciplinary and customizable for each student. After taking GLBS 2503: Introduction to Global Studies, students choose 4 upper-level courses in 2 different areas (international politics, economics, global histories, or world languages) plus a global engagement course, internship, or study abroad.
