Holds and Error Messages While Registering

Advising Hold-Added to each student’s record every semester. Your advisor releases this hold during your academic advising appointment. After hold is released you must register either online through WebWorld during your designated time of registration or in person at the Registrar’s Office.

Admitted By Review  Hold-Some students will have this hold depending on placement status/ACT/SAT scores. This hold will be released after your advisor has signed off on your schedule.

First Year Probation Hold-See your Academic Advisor for instructions on how to release this hold.

Outstanding Balance Hold-You may view your balances in WebWorld: under Student/Student Account/Account Summary. Contact the Business Office in for further information at (940) 397-4102.

Writing Proficiency Hold- Student needs to contact the Writing Proficiency Office in Bea Wood Hall, room 231, to remove hold. WPE Contact: writingprof@msutexas.edu  or (940) 397-4131

WPE Not Taken –student must sign up for the WPE.  It is offered Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. http://www.msutexas.edu/academics/wpr/

Failed WPE –student must sign up for ENGL 2113

Save Act Hold-Student needs to take a 2 -3 hour online training to remove this hold by logging into: www.campusclarity.com (use your preferred email to log in). Students may also contact the Counseling Center for questions (940) 397-4618

TSI Hold (Texas Success Initiative)-This hold will be released after your advisor has signed off on your schedule. Skills tested are reading, writing and mathematics. Students who fail a section of the TSI Assessment may be required to enroll in a developmental course(s) in that area.

Athletic Advising Hold-See Amanda Nimetz or in McCullough Hall immediately after you have been advised by your assigned department's academic advisor.

Degree Plan Hold–Signed degree plan needs to be sent to the Registrar’s Office. Contact your advisor.

Closed Class Error- The class you are trying to register for is at maximum capacity.  Contact the professor of the course or the College offering the course to see if an override into the class is possible.

Prerequisite/Test Score Error- Contact your academic advisor.

Co-requisite Error- Contact your academic advisor.

Student Attribute Restriction Error- This is class is restricted to students accepted into the Teacher Certification Program.

Classification Error- This course have a classification restriction (i.e. freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior). Contact your academic advisor.
