"The Counseling Center was really helpful to my wife and I. They offered logical steps to help us deal with stress and worry while attending school." - MSU graduate
How to make an Appointment:
Currently enrolled MSU students are eligible to receive short-term counseling services at the MSU Counseling Center. These services are covered by the Student Activity Fees thus there is no charge when students actually receive the services.
All services are confidential except in several instances which are explained to the student prior to any services being received.
1. An initial appointment may be scheduled by coming to the Counseling Center located within the Wellness Center during normal business hours or by calling the Counseling Center at 940-397-4618. Clients are given the first available appointment which sometimes can be on the day of calling.
2. If you are currently being seen by a counselor in the Counseling Center and wish to schedule an appointment, please call 940-397-4618.
3. Students seeking virtual counseling services through BetterMynd can call the Counseling Center at 940-397-4618 to be given credits for the BetterMynd platform.
4. Appointment, Cancellation and No-Show Policy. Our goal is to provide quality counseling services for MSU students. The Appointment, Cancellation and No-Show Policy enables us to better utilize available appointments for our students.
- To cancel your appointment, please call the Counseling Center at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. This allows our office to give your cancelled appointment time to another MSU student. Cancellations made after the required notice are considered as a no-show.
- Students who consistently do not show for their appointment or call to cancel their appointment at least 24 hours in advance will be charged a $25.00 administrative fee.
The Counseling Center is dedicated to providing excellent counseling services to enrolled MSU students. Those students who have recently received counseling services are invited to complete an evaluation form, which can be obtained from the front desk. We will use this information to better serve MSU students.
Faculty and staff are not eligible for services in the Counseling Center unless they are also enrolled as an MSU student. Human Services can provide information regarding off-campus counseling resources for faculty and staff.
