The Counseling Center offers immediate assistance to students in crisis.

Please call for help if you are a student in immediate crisis, especially if one of the following applies to you:

  • You feel you are in immediate danger of harming or killing yourself.
  • You feel you are in immediate danger of harming or killing someone else.
  • You have recently been assaulted or had a traumatic experience.

Walk-in Crisis Coverage
During normal business hours, MSU Texas therapists are available to assist you.


After-Hours Coverage
If you are in crisis in the evening or on the weekends, on-call assessments are provided by Helen Farabee crisis workers.

These crisis workers are reached by calling the MSU Texas Police Department at 940-397-4239.

Please do one of the following:
  • Call 911 and you will be connected with the police who can help you get emergency services.
  • Call the MSU Texas Police Department at 940-397-4239.
  • Call Helen Farabee Center at 800-621-8504.
  • During normal business hours (M-F 8:00-5:00 PM), Counseling Center staff are available to talk with you if you are in crisis. Call 940-397-4618 or stop by the Counseling Center on the corner of Hampstead Lane and Louis J. Rodriguez Drive.
