IELI's partnership with the Italian Air Force (ITAF) began in the mid 1980s, with one class of 10 students and has grown to an average of 7-10 classes per year, educating between 40 and 70 student pilots, navigators, and instructor pilots annually. Students also have the opportunity to practice English with American guest speakers and students from all over the world: China, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Vietnam, Korea, Haiti, and more!
IELI has developed a specialized curriculum that focuses on the English language needs of foreign students who will be entering pilot training programs, navigator training programs, or instructor pilot training programs of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program at Sheppard Air Force Base or one of the many bases around the country with JUNT and SUPT programs.
