College Award for Distinguished Alumnus
College Awards for Distinguished Alumnus are presented each year by the Midwestern State University (MSU) Alumni Association during Homecoming. Each College Award honors an alumnus who has achieved distinction and recognition after attending Midwestern State University. In addition to the Arthur F. Beyer Distinguished Alumnus award, awards are presented annually at Homecoming for each of the following colleges.

Arthur F. Beyer Distinguished Alumnus Award
The Arthur F. Beyer Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented each year by the Midwestern State University (MSU) Alumni Association during Homecoming. The award will honor an alumnus who has achieved distinction and recognition after attending Midwestern State University. The award is presented annually at Homecoming.
The purpose of the award is to honor MSU graduates and former students who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the university. In addition to honoring these individuals, the Distinguished Alumnus Award will spotlight the role of Midwestern State University in the lives of the recipients and thus, will present tangible evidence of the effectiveness of the university's programs.

MSU Texas Alumni Association Spirit Award
The SPIRIT Award stands for Service, Pride, Initiative, Responsibility, Integrity, and Teamwork and is awarded to individuals or groups in recognition of their support of Midwestern State University.
Established in 1996, the first honorees were the MSU Kiowa Kooks who have contributed countless hours of service for the benefit of Midwestern and the Alumni Association. The award is presented each year during Homecoming at the Alumni Awards Ceremony.
Recipients must have graduated from Midwestern State University and be heavily involved with MSU Texas with their time, treasure or talent. This person should be synonymous with Midwestern State University.
