Midwestern State University offers the Bachelor of Music Degree with Teacher Certification degree (Vocal or Instrumental emphasis), the Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance degree (Vocal, Instrumental, or Keyboard emphasis), and the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree.  Keyboard students choosing the Bachelor of Music Degree with Teacher Certification should choose either the vocal track or the instrumental track.

Admission to Teacher Education

Students working toward teacher certification must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.  To be admitted in fourth or fifth semester, the student must have a 2.5 gpa for the six hours of freshman English, have completed 60 hours of coursework with no grade below a "C" in the major area, and have an overall (all coursework) gpa of 2.75.
