A free statewide 24-hour information and referral service.
By simply dialing 2-1-1, callers can receive information about community and social services, such as food pantries, emergency shelter, rent assistance, utility bill assistance, child care, and senior services to name a few.

Food & Clothing Resources

On Campus 

  • Mustangs Pantry is an emergency aid program at MSU Texas designed to improve lives and help supplement the needs of students experiencing food insecurity.
  • Canan Food Security Program seeks to provide a reliable, nutritious source of food in the Mesquite Dining Hall or Maverick’s Corner for MSU students suffering from food insecurity.
  • Career Closet Students or alumni who need professional attire for interviewing or networking events.

Off Campus

Off Campus

  • Faith Mission provides emergency shelter, addiction recovery program, job readiness, and vouchers for clothing and shoes at the Faith Resale Store. 
  • Faith Refuge program and services for women & children experiencing homelessness.
  • Interfaith Outreach Services can assist with housing, food, diapers, utility bills, and medical equipment. 
  • Salvation Army offers rental and energy assistance to individuals of need upon qualification.
  • WF Housing Choice Voucher Program has programs for low-income households to help them pay their rent. A portion of the rent is paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the families.
  • WF Housing Authority promotes adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity, and a suitable living environment.

Healthcare

On Campus

  • MSU Psychology Clinic provides confidential psychotherapy and assessment for adults, adolescents, children, and families in the greater Wichita Falls area.
  • MSU Gaines Dental Hygiene Clinic is offered primarily in the interest of educating and training students. Among the services offered are cleaning of teeth, the exposure of dental X-ray films, fluoride applications, sealants and plaque control instructions. 

Off Campus

  • Medicaid & CHIP is a healthcare program for children in low-income families. CHIP is a health care program for children without health insurance whose families earn too much to get Medicaid but cannot afford health insurance. To get Medicaid or CHIP, a child must be age 18 and younger (in some cases children with disabilities age 19 and 20 can get Medicaid). They must also be a Texas resident and a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen. 
  • Community Healthcare Center is a primary care medical, dental and counseling clinic that is focused on the patient. Services include maternity and pediatrics. Some services have a sliding fee scale available based on family size and income, regardless of insurance status.
  • Veterans' Peer Support Services/ Helen Farabee Center helps educate veterans of community assistance, link to military peer network, link with workgroup, substance abuse services, medical and case mangement services.

  • Interfaith Outreach Services can assist with housing, food, diapers, utility bills, and medical equipment. 
  • Catholic Charities provides services in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas, our Northwest Campus serves veterans, students, and individuals experiencing poverty.
  • Rolling Plains Management Corporation provides transportation, utility and rental assistance, weatherization and home rehabilitation, Head Start, Early Head Start, childcare services and case management. Focuses on outside of Wichita County. Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Shackelford, Stephens, Taylor (excluding the City of Abilene), Wilbarger, Wichita (excluding the City of Wichita Falls), or Young County.
