We recognize the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families, and we are here to assist them in navigating and utilizing educational benefits as well as engaging with the MSU campus and community.
On-Campus Resources
- MSU Texas Veterans Affairs office is located in the Hardin building in the Registrar's office. They assist vveterans and VA education benefit recipient with procedures for using their education benefits at MSU Texas. Make sure to check out their great Guide to VA Benefits.
Off-Campus Resources
- American Red Cross - Financial Assistance. Assistance can include funds for emergency travel, burial of a loved one, emergency food and shelter, etc. The Aid Societies determine the financial assistance package that will be offered – a grant or a loan. The Red Cross is the mechanism to expedite access to these financial resources.
- Catholic Charities pprovides services in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas, our Northwest Campus serves veterans, students, and individuals experiencing poverty.
- Texas Veterans Commission advocates for and provides superior service to veterans that will significantly improve the quality of life for all Texas veterans, their families, and survivors. Offers education grants, health care, benefits, etc.
- Veterans' Peer Support Services / Helen Farabee Center educate veterans of community assistance, link to military peer network, link with workgroup, substance abuse services, medical and case management services.
- Veteran Readiness & Employment helps people with a service-connected disability that limits their ability to work or prevents them from working.
- Wichita Falls Veterans Office helps veteran’s and their dependents in processing claims. We work through and with the Texas Veteran’s Commission to process claims for compensation and pension, change dependency status, update direct deposit information, assistance in burial allowance as well as DIC benefits for the surviving spouse.
- Wichita Falls VA Clinic provides medical and health services for veterans.
