About Golf Cart Transportation Service

Disability Support Services (DSS), in collaboration with University Wellness offers golf cart transportation to support students navigating campus with temporary injuries, conditions, or disabilities.

This service is prioritzed for students experiencing short-term mobility challenges such as:

  • broken limbs
  • concussion
  • temporary physical conditions

This service is not legally required and is not an ADA accommodation. It is provided by DSS and University Wellness as a supportive resouce, based on availability and logistics.

How to Schedule Golf Cart Transportation

To schedule a ride, please call DSS at 940-397-4140. If that line is not answered, you may contact our Wellness partners at 940-397-4618 or 940-397-4466.

  • You must call at least 10-15 minutes before your desired pickup time.
  • Be ready to confirm your exact location when calling.
  • Please be waiting at your designednated pickup spot at the scheduled time.
  • The golf cart will wait up to five minutes past the agreed-upon time. If you do not arrive within that window, the cart will leave.

Golf Cart Transportation Availability

  • Monday through Friday when classes are in session. If campus is closed due to inclement weather or a holiday, this service will not be available.
  • The earliest ride begins at 8:00 a.m., and the latest ride is offered at 4:50 p.m.
  • Golf cart transportation is available only for on-campus pickup and drop-off. If you need to be picked up from or dropped off at a location off campus, you will need to arrange your own transportation.
  • Services offered during the Fall and Spring semesters only.
  • Not available on weekends or during final exams.

Important Usage Rules

  • If you schedule a ride and do not show up with canceling in advance, you will receive a first-time warning.
  • A second missed ride without cancellation will result in temporary suspension of golf cart privileges.
  • To reinstate access, you will need to meet with Disability Support Services to discuss the missed appointments and determine next steps
  • We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an efficient and respectful transportation service.

Chronic Disability

Students with chronic conditions that impact or limit mobility will be provided accommodations that are legally covered under ADA, including:

  • flexibility with arrival to courses,
  • note taking,
  • priority registration,
  • priority seating,
  • parking considerations, etc. If there are still concerns despite these accommodations, DSS is able to explore other options, including golf cart service, on a case-by-case basis and as room and scheduling allows.
