Rules for the Mustangs Rally Door Prizes

Midwestern State University (“MSU Texas”)

MSU Texas will draw for the following prizes at the March 4, 2023 Mustangs Rally:

  • Seven $2,000 scholarships to MSU Texas, awarded in installments of $1,000 per academic semester, beginning In August 2023 and ending in July 2024. Good academic and conduct standing required. Two additional $500 scholarships will be drawn in the opening welcome session.
  • Six Dell laptop computers, each with an approximate value of $1,000. Completion of IRS W-9 Form required.

To be eligible for the drawings, prospective MSU Texas students must electronically register for Mustangs Rally (https://msutexas.edu/admissions/mustangs-rally.php) by March 3, 12 pm.  To be eligible for the scholarship and laptop drawings, prospective students must designate which academic session they will attend.

Drawings for the $2,000 scholarships and Dell laptops occur in each undergraduate college during their individual college academic sessions between 11 am and 12 pm on March 4th.

All prizes are nontransferable.

Entrants must be present at the time of drawing to win.

Prize winners are responsible for payment of any tax due.

The scholarship prize amounts will be applied to the student’s MSU Texas bills in August 2023 and January 2024.  College deans at MSU Texas will present the Dell laptops to the winning recipients during the respective college orientation events during the week of August 21-24, 2023.  The winning contestant must be present at the orientation to receive the laptop and complete an IRS W-9 Form.  The exact specifications of the Dell laptops are not yet known, as MSU Texas is still negotiating recommended student laptop configurations.

If the winners of the scholarships do not enroll in classes until August 2024, the prize periods indicated above may extend one year.

The odds of winning a prize depend on the total number of prospective MSU Texas students who register for and attend Mustangs Rally.  MSU Texas expects a record crowd, but in past years fewer than 400 prospective students have attended the spring Mustangs Rally.
