Student Conduct Committee

Purpose

To hear complaints regarding student behavior, and when appropriate, impose discipline that may include official reprimand, probation, suspension, or expulsion.

Meets as needed.

Personnel

Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (Chair), six students, six faculty members (one from each college), nine staff/administrative members appointed and trained annually by the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The faculty members must have completed at least one year of teaching at MSU. The students must be in academic good standing at the University and have completed 15 hours of academic credit with cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. They must also be in conduct good standing throughout the term in which they serve. The appointments by the president shall be made from a panel of faculty and students nominated by the Student Government Association President, whose nominations have received confirmation by a majority vote of the Student Senate. A minimum of six faculty and six students shall be recommended to the University President.
