Academic Readmission Committee
Purpose
The Academic Readmission Committee makes recommendations on the admissibility of students who are on suspension but do not wish to sit out the allotted time. The committee meets in January, June, and August on specified days, so students should contact the office of Tutoring and Academic Support Programs (TASP) for appeal deadlines. If re-instated, students will be eligible to enroll for classes with limitations or restrictions. If denied, students will be required to sit out their fixed suspension time.
Please note that students can only meet before the Readmission Committee once.
Personnel
Director of Tutoring and Academic Support Programs (TASP) will Chair the committee and vote only to break a tie. At least three faculty members and one student from the committee will be present for each student hearing.
Voting members: one faculty member from each college, two students, a representative from TASP recommended by TASP Director, and the Director of Admissions. One alternate full-time faculty member will be appointed from each college and will be expected to serve if the regular member cannot attend. An alternate member, when serving in the regular member’s place, has the same rights and privileges as the regular member. Following their term as alternates the alternates will move to committee member status.
Non-voting members: Associate Vice President for Academic Innovation and Success, and Associate Vice President for Student Enrollment and Dean of Students.
