MSU Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassadors are a very prestigious group of students at Midwestern State University.  Since their founding in the late 1970's, the Student Ambassadors have served as representative student leaders at important functions on campus as well as within the Wichita Falls community.  The makeup of the organizations consists of a diverse group of high quality students who represent different classifications, majors, ethnic backgrounds, and life experiences.

Through their interactions with fellow and prospective students, faculty and staff, parents and family members, alumni, university administrators and donors, and community members, the Student Ambassadors are introduced to a variety of leadership and service opportunities and learn about the University and its role in the community.  In addition, they experience enhanced communication and leadership skills as well as increased levels of interpersonal confidence.

Only fifty Student Ambassador positions exist at a single time and there is an application and interview process.  Numerous applications are received for each vacant position.  In order to be eligible to apply for a Student Ambassador position, a student must have at least a 2.5 cumulative G.P.A. and have been a student at Midwestern State University for an entire academic year.  Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of Student Development and Orientation for consideration during the next selection and interview process.

Thanks to the generosity of the Shanor Foundation and its Director, Mr. Frank Jarratt, Student Ambassadors receive a $100 scholarship each semester for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving Midwestern State University and the Wichita Falls community.
