All student legislative power at Midwestern State University is vested in the Student Senate. The Senate consists of senators from registered student organizations, residence halls/apartments, and classifications (i.e. freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate). The SGA Vice President presides over the senate meetings.
Senate meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month during the fall and spring semesters while classes are in session. Additionally, special meetings may be called by the President of the Student Government Association.
For the 2020-2021 school year, Senate meetings on the 1st Tuesday of each month will feature both a face-to-face and virtual attendance option. Senate meetings on the 3rdTuesday of each month will be exclusively virtual. Virtual meetings will be conducted through Zoom.
