The Collection Development Department strives to provide the best possible research resources for use by the students, faculty, and staff of MSU Texas. Primary responsibility for purchasing and overseeing library resources resides with the Collection Development Librarian in partnership with faculty and library staff.

The Collection Development office is located on the third floor of Moffett Library, in room 310.

Primary activities of the Collection Development Department:

  • Communicate with publishers and vendors to evaluate and purchase products and services for Moffett Library.
  • Work with technical services staff to implement and maintain the library's physical collections and electronic resources.
  • Monitor acquisition plans and budgets to ensure appropriate flow of funds relative to the fiscal year cycle.
  • Continuous evaluation of the collections' strength for accreditation. 
  • Receipt and processing of gift and donation materials.
