Purpose:
The President’s Staff Excellence Award recognizes four distinguished staff employees whose performance embodies Midwestern State University's Values in everyday work and within our community. Two non-exempt staff members and two exempt staff members will be recognized each year.
Recognition Criteria:
- Demonstrated outstanding performance of assigned duties in support of the university's values: (People-Centered, Community, Integrity, Visionary, Connections)
- Full-time benefit eligible staff employee - excluding staff members holding the administrative titles of President, Provost, Vice President, Associate & Assistant Vice President
- Employed at MSU for a period of two (2) years as of December 31 of the previous year
- Previous staff award winners ineligible
Nomination Process:
- Nominations accepted by staff, faculty, supervisors, students, and administrators
- Nominations may be submitted online or through paper forms available in Human Resources
- Nominations must be received by the published deadline date and time
- Nominations must include specific, detailed evidence supporting the nominee’s exceptional performance in support of MSU's Values
Selection Committee:
- Four staff members designated by Staff Senate in each of the employment classification areas: Administrative/Managerial; Professional; Secretarial/Clerical; Service/Maintenance/Skilled Craft
- Two faculty members designated by the Faculty Senate Chairperson
- The Director of Human Resources serves as the committee facilitator
- Nominees will be ranked by committee members using a standard matrix
- Award recipients will be held confidential until the annual recognition ceremony
Recognition:
- Recipients will be recognized at the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony
- Each recipient will receive a framed certificate and gift in the amount of $500.00
