Students assume obligations when they become voluntary members of the academic community at Midwestern State University. Students are obligated to:
- Be fully acquainted with the rules, regulations, and policies of Midwestern State University
- Maintain conduct of the highest standards, knowing that misconduct reflects upon self, family, Midwestern State University, and citizenry.
- Follow the tenets of common decency and acceptable behavior commensurate with the aspiration implied by a college education.
- Respect the rights and property of others at all times.
- Takes advantage of all available opportunities found at an institution of higher education.
The Housing Reservation Commitment & Agreement is binding for the full academic year, provided the student is enrolled at Midwestern State University. Students are encouraged to be familiar with the terms and conditions outlined in the full agreement.

As members of the Midwestern State University community, students are responsible for becoming fully acquainted with the rules, regulations, and policies of Midwestern State University. Housing policies and guidelines are explained in detail within the Residence Life & Housing Handbook.

Students are encouraged to check their MSU Texas email often and are asked to attend all Hall Meetings with their Resident Assistant (RA). Students are encouraged to bring all issues and questions to their RA and Hall Director for resolution and assistance, as well as present policy changes and ideas to the Residence Hall Association (RHA).
