Current Business/Information Sharing: None
New Business:
- Election of 2025-2026 Executive Committee
- Dr. Capps announced the results of the election:
- Chair: Dawn Slavens
- Vice Chair: Darla Diltz
- Secretary: Hillary Coenen
- Parliamentarian: Stacia Miller
- Treasurer: Bev Stiles
- Dr. Capps announced the results of the election:
- Feedback on International Student Concerns
- Dr. Capps explained that the students whose visas were revoked or terminated are in flux and their status is unclear. The administration is doing everything they can to advocate for these students, but it’s a moving target. Dr. Keith Lamb is willing to address questions that he is able to answer.
- T&P Format
- Dr. Capps explained that the 2021 Faculty Senate agreed to shift to digital submissions of the T&P portfolio. Folks who are eligible to apply for Full under the 2014 Tenure & Promotion Guidelines should be eligible to go up for full with hard copy portfolios. We planned to do a T & P Panel, but we couldn’t get a time that worked for everyone. Dr. Vandehey indicated that people are concerned submitters couldn’t change documents or remove them without help from D2L. Faculty want the opportunity to add and remove their own documents until the submission deadline. Changing the roles assigned may be the quickest way, and Dr. Capps will discuss settings with Dani McAfee.
- Dr. Capps will work on a draft of a guide and will share it with executive council, then those who receive letters notifying them of eligibility.
Unfinished Business:
- Raises
- Dr. Lei raised the question of raises, and Dr. Case indicated that, while every budget that could occur includes raises, they continue to say that raises depend upon enrollment and retention numbers. The budget depends on the legislative session outcomes, so we will not know until about the time contracts go out.
- Retention Impacts from Texas Bridge/Developmental
- Dr. Slavens expressed concerns about retention for Texas Bridge students who are not included in developmental support and co-requisite requirements. Dr. Coenen mentioned the Developmental Education Task Force, which has similar questions and will be reviewing data on those students.
