All MSRS majors must write either a thesis or a substantial scholarly research paper as part of the degree requirements.
MSRS majors pursuing the thesis option will conduct original research and write a research manuscript discussing the results of the study. A substantial proposal must be approved by the Thesis Advisor and Graduate Advisory Committee prior to enrolling in the first thesis course (RADS 6983). The thesis must be prepared according to the guidelines of the current Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
MSRS majors pursuing the non-thesis option are required to submit a substantial scholarly research paper (literature review). The paper must be submitted at least three weeks before the end of the semester. Literature reviews must be prepared according to the guidelines of the current Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
MSRS candidates wishing to transfer course(s) from another institution must have official transcripts indicating successful completion of course(s) forwarded to the Office of the Registrar, the Graduate School, and the MSRS Graduate Coordinator’s office for evaluation. A maximum of six semester hours of approved residence graduate work from another accredited graduate school may be accepted for credit upon approval by the Graduate Coordinator prior to registration.
MSRS majors have up to six years from enrollment in the first radiologic sciences graduate course to complete the degree requirements. Courses more than six years old cannot be included on a degree plan. If a program of study takes more than six years, the courses taken more than six years earlier must be repeated.
Because of the hybrid format of this program, MSRS majors must be present for all required on-campus visits to receive a passing grade in any didactic course that includes face-to-face hours. There are no exceptions to this policy. Timeliness when attending classes is required and may result in grade reduction or dismissal from the program if not followed.
Some courses in this program may require the use a proctored testing service for completion of course requirements. The proctored testing service may require additional fees for students.
