The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is a professional business organization that provides leadership opportunities, professional development and personal growth for the Information Technology (IT) profession.  It provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals.

The student chapter of AITP was founded in the Spring of 2004 with 13 members and is sponsored by the Dallas professional chapter.  Our students regularly attend the monthly professional meetings in Dallas.  The MSU student chapter also supports the professional chapter’s May conference, and the new IT Apprentice program.
The student chapter is heavily involved in preparing for and participating in the National and Regional student conferences and competitions hosted by AITP.  Since its founding in 2004 the MSU student chapter of AITP has won many awards at both the Regional and National levels.

In April of 2006, the MSU student chapter co-hosted the AITP National Collegiate Conference in Dallas with the Dallas Professional Chapter.  In October of 2006, the MSU student chapter hosted the Region 3 Student Conference in the new Dillard College of Business Administration Building.  The conference consisted of over 200 students and faculty from 6 states competing in such competitions as Network Design, Systems Analysis, Database Design, JAVA, and others.
