Vinson Awards

Contestants may submit in any or all of these three categories.

• Poetry
• Prose Fiction
• Prose Non-Fiction

Submitting writers must be undergraduate, full-time students enrolled at Midwestern State University, and in good academic standing.

Poets--please supply three double-spaced, typed poems, to allow readers a sense of depth of voice and vision. Prose pieces also should be typed, double-spaced, and can run up to 1000 words. Please remove all indications of author from the text and then number each page.

Please attach a cover sheet to your submissions. On that sheet, note

• the writer's name
• the writer's student number
• the title(s) of her/his submission(s)
• and an address and telephone number to which questions might be directed.

Cover sheets will be separated from work received, thus allowing all entries to be read anonymously. Please submit copies; we are not able to return submissions.

The Vinson Award represents a substantial honor and sum. Thus, readers will reserve the right, given deadline pressures, not to consider submissions that arrive late or that do not respond to the above requests. Thanks for your understanding.
