Midwestern State University's student media won 21 awards at the annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association competition.

MSU junior mass communication major Omar Combie won the Frank Buckley Scholarship as well as the TIPA logo design competition.

Individual students won five first-place awards, six second-place awards, eight third-place awards and two honorable mentions.

TIPA is a statewide organization of journalism and mass communication programs. Its annual competition attracts about 75 universities and 750 students.
