Nursing Skills
MSU Texas has identified marketable skills for all of its degree programs. These skills include interpersonal, cognitive, and applied expertise areas which are valued by employers, and are primary or complementary to a major. The marketable skills goal was designed to help students articulate their skills to employers.
BS Nursing
- Treatment Plan Development: Evaluate and revise medical treatments for patients
- Medical History Recordkeeping and Application: Record health and illness data, implement interventions, and evaluate goal progress
- Data Analysis: Gather and organize patient-centered information into a plan of action
MS Nursing
- Family Nurse Practitioner - Primary Nursing care and Research: Provide primary nursing care across the lifespan and conduct evidenced based practice research
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Mental Health Care and Research: Provide comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan and conduct evidence based practice research
