Midwestern State University offers students over $2 million in general academic merit scholarships each year.
New incoming freshmen who are admitted to MSU Texas by the April 1 priority deadline for fall or November 1 priority deadline for spring are automatically considered for our general merit, Phi Theta Kappa, Regents and ISD scholarships.
New incoming transfer students seeking their first bachelor’s degree who are admitted to MSU by July 1 for fall or November 1 for spring and have all required documents on file with the Admissions Office are automatically considered for our general merit and Phi Theta Kappa scholarships.
These merit scholarships are awarded if the deadline and criteria are met for the first semester that you are applying for admission.

Designed to bring out the best in academically talented students and to serve as the core of academic excellence with the university community.

The Priddy Scholars – Full Tuition and Residential Funding
Recognizes 15 outstanding students who are the first in their immediate family to attend a four-year university. Scholarships are selective and cover tuition, books, room, board, and study abroad.
Texas Leadership Scholars – Full Tuition and Residential Funding
Recognizes up to 8 first-generation students who will be connected with peer and professional networks and mentors, participate in unique leadership development programs, and receive opportunities for undergraduate research and study abroad options. To be eligible, nomination to the program from a high school counselor is required.
