Accounting Society

The MSU Texas Accounting Society provides students the opportunity to establish additional contacts with the profession. The Society provides a program of field trips, presentations by outside professionals, and other topics of interest to new accountants. The organization is actively supported by the Wichita Falls Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). This organization helps students to continue their contact with the profession following graduation.

Association of Information Technology Professionals

The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is a professional business organization that provides leadership opportunities, professional development and personal growth for the Information Technology (IT) profession. It provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals.

The student chapter of AITP was founded in the Spring of 2004 with 13 members and is sponsored by the Dallas professional chapter. Our students regularly attend the monthly professional meetings in Dallas. The MSU student chapter also supports the professional chapter’s May conference, and the new IT Apprentice program.

The student chapter is heavily involved in preparing for and participating in the National and Regional student conferences and competitions hosted by AITP. Since its founding in 2004 the MSU student chapter of AITP has won many awards at both the Regional and National levels.

In April of 2006, the MSU student chapter co-hosted the AITP National Collegiate Conference in Dallas with the Dallas Professional Chapter. In October of 2006, the MSU student chapter hosted the Region 3 Student Conference in the new Dillard College of Business Administration Building. The conference consisted of over 200 students and faculty from 6 states competing in such competitions as Network Design, Systems Analysis, Database Design, JAVA, and others.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business, to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement through research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community. Delta Sigma Pi holds regular professional events to educate it members about a variety of business fields and job opportunities. Through these events, other meetings with business professionals, and community service, members have ample networking opportunities. In summary, Delta Sigma Pi strives to supplement the education of the students of the Dillard College of Business by providing practical opportunities to learn more about business and commerce. Delta Sigma Pi is open to all business majors that are in good standing with the Dillard College of Business.

Financial Management Association

The MSU Texas FMA chapter was established in the spring of 2005. The  Financial Management Association (FMA) national organization was established in 1970, and is a global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making. FMA's mission is to broaden the common interests between academicians and practitioners, provide opportunities for professional interaction between and among academicians, practitioners and students, promote the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices, and to enhance the quality of education in finance.

The MSU Texas FMA chapter expects to serve as a communication channel between students and business professionals, to disseminate information about professional education and certification in finance and related business fields, to educate students on career opportunities along with requirements and benefits in specific fields, and to provide opportunities for students to build leadership, teamwork, and professional skills.
