On this page, you will find information and resources regarding the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (AKA “The Clery Act”).
The Clery Act is a federal statute requiring colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to maintain and disclose certain campus crime statistics and security information. Additionally, the Act mandates that universities undertake certain actions relevant to crimes occurring within its Clery geography, and to disclose specific information under certain circumstances.
MSU Texas takes its obligation to comply with the Clery Act very seriously and now has an office within the police department dedicated to overseeing Institutional compliance. Please direct questions or concerns regarding any aspect of Clery Act compliance to the following office:

This document contains crime statistics for the previous three calendar years.
The purpose of the Daily Crime Log is to record all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to the MSU Texas PD. Incidents that are not criminal in nature are not recorded on the log. Per Clery requirements, the past 60 days of reports are available through the link above. A hard copy of the log is also maintained and available at the police department lobby, during normal office hours.
Campus Security Authorities – Resources
A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is a Clery-specific term that refers to individuals and organizations associated with an institution whose functions involve significant responsibility for student and/or campus activities. CSAs are formally identified by the University, and trained in their reporting duties.
The Clery Act requires CSAs to report certain crimes to ensure that those offenses are collected for statistical reporting and to allow the University to comply with other facets of the Act, which may include requiring the University to generate a notification to the MSU Community. CSAs becoming aware of a potential Clery crime should use the following form to report it to the Clery Compliance Office immediately.

Crime Alerts
MSU Texas PD has a responsibility to provide timely warning notices (titled as a “Crime Alert”) to the MSU Texas community, about certain reported crimes, in a manner that will aid in the prevention of similar crimes. Current Timely Warning Notices will be posted on this page, and are also generally disseminated via campus-wide emails.
MSU Texas will also as provide emergency notifications, upon confirmation of a significant emergency, when the health and safety of the campus community is at risk. The department utilizes one or more of the following methods of communication to disseminate emergency notifications: text messages, campus wide email, social media, and desktop pop-up alert system.
