The core mission of the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at MSU Texas is to provide English language services to the university population and community at large.
Central to this mission is the enhancement of the diversity of MSU Texas' students and community members. These goals are accomplished by offering quality English language instruction and support services to non-native speakers of English whose goals may be academic, professional, or personal.
IELI strives for excellence in education by committing itself to strengthening the four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Within its educational framework, IELI recognizes the importance of cultural diversity and attempts to promote respect for all peoples. IELI is dedicated to providing an environment that advances professional excellence, and that is flexible and responsive to the changing needs of its learners.
