Students may submit an appeal if they feel they have extenuating circumstances that warrant further review of their account. There are four different appeal processes.

Course Grade Appeals

Course Grade Appeals are handled through the dean of the college in which the course was taught. Follow the below checklist to appeal a course grade.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals

SAP Appeals are handled through the Financial Aid Office. Please reach out to their office to begin the appeal process.

Student Rights and Responsibilities Appeals

If you wish to submit an appeal due to a personal extenuating circumstance, please contact the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office. This includes medical events, death in the family, mental health issues, etc.

All Other Appeals

If your situation does not apply to any of the three above appeal types, you may submit an appeal through the Administration and Finance Office by filling out the form below.

You will then need to email a formal letter explaining the situation to Appeals - Admin and Finance at (appeals.adminfinance@msutexas.edu). All appeal correspondence and decisions will be sent to your university email address.
