The French Department has a chapter of the French national honor society, Pi Delta Phi. MSU's chapter is Xi Eta. Dr. Stuart McClintock is its moderator.

To be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least one advanced French course (3000 level and above) with a minimum GPA in French of 3.00 and must rank in the top 35% of his/her class. Induction ceremonies take place in both fall and spring.

Pi Delta Phi offers many generous scholarships for study abroad in both France and Canada. The deadline for scholarship application is November 1. A student must already be a member of Pi Delta Phi to be eligible for a scholarship. For more information, please see www.pideltaphi.org.

Honorary membership is available to the French faculty of Midwestern State University; to members of the faculty at large;and to community and business leaders who have demonstrated a strong support of French language, culture and Francophone literature.

National dues for Regular members are $40.00; dues for Honorary members are $15.00. All members receive the official Pi Delta Phi pin, graduation cords, and their lifetime membership certificate. For more information, please see www.pideltaphi.org.
