A Word From Our Chair
         

Welcome to Wilson School of Nursing website.  We are part of the College of Health Sciences and Human Services at Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, Texas.  We are the only public liberal arts university in Texas.  Students who choose to attend Midwestern State will have the opportunity to engage in a rich, diverse educational experience.  This experience will prepare you for meeting the challenges as you transition from school to the profession of nursing.  Check out the programs we offer.  We hope that you will discover how our programs offer you an opportunity to join the nursing profession and/or advance your nursing career.

Our mission at the Wilson School of Nursing is to prepare nurses who will provide competent and compassionate health care to individuals, families, groups, and communities.  We value teaching/learning and foster an environment that is innovative and inclusive of a variety of teaching methodologies. Our graduate and undergraduate programs build on the liberal arts foundation where our students develop as leaders, and through collaborations strive to implement evidence-based innovative and creative solutions to make a difference in healthcare.


Our goal at the Wilson School of Nursing is to graduate students who will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to clients in a variety of settings.  Our faculty includes experienced educators, skilled clinicians.  Along with the dedicated staff, we strive to to provide a caring and supportive environment and are committed to your success. 

We provide a student-centered education in which our faculty embraces the use of innovative educational practices to meet the needs of our students. Our graduate and undergraduate curricula provide experiences in our state of the art Simulation Center, clinical and community settings.

We believe these experiences prepare our nurses to be compassionate, committed to promoting healthy lifestyles, improving access to quality care, and making an impact on health outcomes.  Our dedicated faculty continues to produce scholarly work in the areas of teaching, practice, research, and service.
