COMPLIANCE RECORDS

Wilson School of Nursing compliance  records are managed through CastleBranch (formerly known as Certified Background), one of the top ten background screening and compliance management companies in the nation.  Students who have been admitted to WSON will receive complete information during the admission/enrollment process.  Use the Access Compliance Portal link on the left or copy the URL, Castlebranchinto your browser. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year WSON awards a number of scholarships to students enrolled in BSN prelicensure (including ACCEL-RN), RN-Transition, and Graduate (both MSN and Certificate) programs. You must be a student in good standing, admitted to one of our programs, and enrolled in courses (NURS 3211 or above).  The Student Affairs Committee meets in the spring to award funds for the following academic year, based primarily on scholarship.  Some funds have specific residency  requirements as well.  Complete the online scholarship application to get started. The application period is January 1 - March 1.

MUSTANGS II PROJECT

The purpose of the MUSTANGS II Project is to prepare Wilson School of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students for future employment with rural and/or underserved populations utilizing innovative academic and clinical training experiences in both rural/underserved and mental health settings. The initial MUSTANGS Project began in the 2017-18 academic year. The first cohort of 10 students graduated in August 2018. Funded by a federal HRSA grant, the project also awarded 13 traineeships during the 2018/19 academic year. Continuing the project with additional HRSA funding for four more years, the MUSTANGS II project will provide traineeships for 12 students per year through the 2022-2023 academic year. You must be a US citizen to apply.

Sherri Meek, LMSW, is available 20 hours weekly by appointment or walk-in. Sherri has 25 years of experience working with families, veterans, and individuals with mental health. Sherri will assist you in exploring present circumstances and sorting through future options, outside opportunities, and resources to help you stay focused on your studies.
