Midwestern State University (MSU Texas), a component of the Texas Tech University System, invites applications for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance.
As the university’s chief financial officer, the vice president will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for a broad range of operations, including budget and strategic financial planning, controller and student business services, facilities services, human resources, payroll, and purchasing and contract management. The VPAF provides proactive, integrated financial planning that optimizes resources in support of the university's mission and strategic priorities. This leadership and oversight ensure the highest and best use of university resources, fostering a sense of financial stability and security. The ideal candidate will also possess a collegial, collaborative leadership style and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The Vice President for Administration and Finance is a cabinet-level position that reports to the university president.
Search Criteria
MSU Texas seeks an innovative and visionary leader with the following:
- A master's degree in business administration, economics, or closely related field.
- CPA certification and/or a doctorate are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional and administrative experience in finance, investments, management, business education, or related work, including leadership responsibility, is required.
- A background in higher education, specifically public higher education, is preferred.
- A strong general working knowledge of state legislative and higher education processes and should be able to adapt quickly to those of Texas.
