If you were enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) in the previous Fall AND Spring semesters AND received the maximum Pell Grant. AND, if you plan to attend at least half-time (6 hours or more) in the summer term(s), as per your Summer General Application, you are eligible to receive an “additional” Pell award for the Summer term(s).
However, please note the following information regarding this ‘additional’ Summer Pell award:
- You MUST attend at least half-time (6 hours or more) to receive the ‘additional’ Summer Pell, AND
- The Pell Grant award will be disbursed evenly at the beginning of each summer term:
- If enrolled Summer 1 OR Summer 2 term ONLY, the full amount of the ‘additional’ Pell will be disbursed at the beginning of the Summer 1 or Summer 2 term;
- If enrolled in Summer 1 AND Summer 2 terms, one-half of the ‘additional’ Pell award will be disbursed at the beginning of each Summer term (May and July).
IMPORTANT! If you do NOT attend at least half-time (6 hours or more), the ‘additional’ Summer Pell award will be cancelled and you will be responsible to repay the ‘additional’ Summer Pell award to the MSU Business Office.
