What is EURECA?
The Enhancing Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (EURECA) program started in 2013 to promote and facilitate undergraduate research by providing incentives and a support system for undergraduate students to engage in high-quality research endeavors and creative activities in an interdisciplinary environment.
EURECA provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to work with a faculty mentor(s) to engage in inquiry, discovery, and creativity or applied activities within a shared discipline or an interdisciplinary environment. Students and faculty apply for research funding for semester or year-long projects. The funding includes scholarships for each student participating and stipends for faculty mentors. There is also funding available for materials/supplies and student travel.
Objectives:
- Promote interdisciplinary & cross-disciplinary research/creative activity collaborative partnerships among students and faculty, to enhance your educational experience.

All EURECA applicants for the 2025-2026 Academic Year must complete an orientation session with the UGR Coordinator in the UGR Office (CSC Room 161). These sessions will allow undergraduate applicants to discuss their questions about EURECA and receive details about the program's responsibilities and requirements. The sessions must be completed before submitting an EURECA proposal. Faculty mentors are welcome to attend.
Students and faculty apply to the program online. A panel of qualified faculty peers will evaluate the proposals using the Evaluation Rubric and make recommendations to the Director of Undergraduate Research. Follow the links below to access the guidelines, proposal form, and evaluative rubric.
