• A cumulative GPA of 3.00 on the 10 prerequisite courses listed in the table below
  • The HESI A2 assessment is required. Minimum scores for consideration are:
    • 80% or Higher on Math Score
    • 80% or Higher on English Language Composite Score
      • Must include Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary & Knowledge
  • You must have, or be qualified for, full admission to Midwestern State University. Complete information regarding University application deadlines and requirements can be found on the MSU Admissions webpage. This does not guarantee admission to the BSN program.
  • Anatomy & Physiology I & II must be completed within the last five years.
  • Applicants who have enrolled more than twice in any one science course are not eligible for admission into the program (including D's, F's and W's).
  • The four (4) science prerequisite courses may not be repeated if the grade earned was a C or higher.
    • *If a grade of D or F is made on the first attempt and the second attempt results in a C or higher, the two grades will be averaged for GPA.
  • The six (6) non-science prerequisite courses must have a grade of C or higher and may be repeated only once.
  • MSU students who are progressing satisfactorily will be given priority for all classes. Transfer students will be considered on an "as available" basis.
  • Applications for Fall admission are accepted February 15-March 31
  • Applications for Spring admission are accepted July 1-August 15
  • Students must complete the following courses prior to beginning the nursing program. Students may apply to the program while enrolled in prerequisite courses. If one or more prerequisite courses are in progress during the application process or will be completed prior to the start of the program, the student may be offered conditional admission. Admission is contingent on satisfactorily completing the 10 prerequisite courses and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on the 10 prerequisite courses prior to enrolling in the program.
