The academic internship experience must correspond to the fall, spring, or summer term. The student is responsible for researching and applying for internships, though the Internship Coordinator is available for support and advice. Students may select an internship opportunity from businesses registered on MustangsHIRE (powered by Handshake), or students may select a business on their own; however, all internship experiences must be approved through the Internship Coordinator’s office before they qualify as an academic internship. Upon the satisfactory completion of the internship, students receive 3 hours of college credit.
Internships may be taken for undergraduate credit in the areas of accounting, economics, finance, general business, legal environment of business, management, management information systems, or marketing. For graduate credit, students may take the internship course in the areas of business administration or accounting. Entrepreneurship minors are also eligible for an academic internship.
