Applications

To be considered for admission to the MBA Program, students must provide the information listed below to the Dr. Billie Doris McAda Graduate School.

  1. A bachelor's degree in any field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  2. A completed application form
  3. Official transcripts of all previous college course work (including verification of an earned bachelor's degree)
  4. An official score on either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
  5. International students (from countries where English is not the native language) must provide the documents listed above as well as an official score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), IELTS, ITEP, or PTE to the Office of International Services.
  6. Once your application is fully submitted, you will be promptly notified of the committee's decision on your application. Assuming you are admitted, a faculty member will serve as your academic advisor, and  will work together to plan your course of study to ensure your successful completion of the program.
GMAT/GRE Waiver

Members of Beta Gamma Sigma and/or individuals that have a prior graduate or terminal (e.g., M.D., J.D., Ph.D.) degree are exempted from the GMAT requirement.

GMAT/GRE may be waived by the MBA Coordinator with conditional admission for applicants who satisfy any of the following conditions: 

  1. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 from U.S. post‐secondary institutions
  2. Minimum major GPA of 3.5 from U.S. post‐secondary institutions
  3. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 from at least 9 hours of graduate-level course work from U.S. post‐secondary Institutions
  4. For incoming international students, a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (the converted U.S. equivalent) from any non U.S.-based institution
  5. A quantitatively oriented professional certification
  6. Other standardized test scores demonstrating a comparable quantitative ability
  7. Significant professional work experiences

GMAT / GRE waived exceptions are made on a case‐by‐case basis by the MBA coordinator. 

Official GRE or GMAT (GMAT for MBA students only) scores must be sent directly to MSU Texas Admissions.

Admission

We offer two types of admission:

Unconditional Admission: Student is not required to satisfy any conditions.
Conditional Admission: The student is required to achieve an accumulated GPA of 3.0 for the first 12 graduate credit hours.

Costs

DCOBA MBA has the second-lowest-cost in Texas. The tuition and fees for 33 hours MBA program are projected to be approximately $10,493.05 for in-state students and $12,638.05 for out-of-state students. International students are encouraged to seek tuition waivers to pay out-of-state tuition and not full international student rates.

International students who are granted a competitive waiver or tuition waiver pay out-of-state tuition. If you are an F-1 visa student, see your itemized cost estimate. Additionally, health insurance is estimated to be $2,600/year and living expense is estimated to be $6,000/year.

Graduate assistant positions are available to many students. MSU Texas has a number of graduate merit scholarships, graduate assistantships, tuition waivers, and competitive waivers. All of which are awarded on a competitive basis.

Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships 

Dillard College of Business Administration offers more than $150,000 in scholarships annually to our students. MBA students are eligible for Merit-Graduate School Scholarships, Sheppard Military MBA Scholarship, Energy Management Concentration Scholarship, Prothro-Yeager Scholarship, Jim Mimms Scholarships, Tom C. White Competitive Scholarships, Military Dependents Scholarships, and more. Twenty-five to thirty-five percent of our MBA student population are awarded scholarships based on academic and personal achievement. Currently-enrolled students apply every Spring in January/February for these scholarships. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 23rd, 2025.

Additionally, Dillard Graduate Assistantships are also available to our MBA students. The Dillard College employs about 20 Graduate Assistants each Fall and Spring semester. Dillard Graduate Assistants work for approximately 19 hours per week and must be physically present on the Wichita Falls campus and physically present in the Dillard building during specified work hours. Responsibilities of Graduate Assistants may include research, grading, assisting faculty with face-to-face and online courses, or assisting with prep in regards to ADA requirements. The stipend for a Graduate Assistant is $4,000 per semester. Being a Graduate Assistant does not come with health insurance or a tuition waiver.

Newly admitted students receive a Graduate Assistantship application when they are accepted into the MBA program. Both international and domestic students are eligible. If you are applying to be a Graduate Assistant in a Fall semester, the deadline to submit the application is April 15th at 11:59PM. If you are applying to be a Graduate Assistant in a Spring semester, the deadline to submit the application is November 15th at 11:59PM. If the deadline has passed, newly incoming students will not receive the application.

The Dillard College also gives new incoming MBA students the opportunity to apply for a Graduate Merit scholarship before the start of their first semester. Students will receive an application when they are accepted into the MBA program. After the first semester, there are not future opportunities to apply. This scholarship is typically awarded in $1,000 amounts ($500 for Fall and $500 for Spring). If you are starting the MBA program in a Fall semester, the deadline to submit the application is April 15th at 11:59PM. If you are starting the MBA program in a Spring semester, the deadline to submit the application is November 15th at 11:59PM.
