December

Winner: Ronnie Wherry

Nominated by: Drs. Dawes and Coenen

"Ronnie is great. He is very people-centered and keeps our floor clean. Recently, he caught a rodent in one of the faculty offices and saved the day! He is always friendly and helpful."--Dr. Dawes

"Ronnie has taken such excellent care of the building and us in Prothro-Yeager. He has made me feel so comfortable in my office despite some concerns about the space. (He helped catch and remove a rat that plagued my office and made me so uneasy. Now I can work in my office in comfort and peace again.) He also has a calm demeanor and a gentle spirit that we so appreciate. (I almost forgot this important story!) Ronnie also brought some wonderful barbecue that he'd smoked up to the department. It was so generous, and it was really great food! After trying his food, I recommended him to my sister to cater her wedding. He and his family were so great at the wedding, and they really made our family event feel so special and so familiar and comfortable. Honestly, having Ronnie in PY has been such a gift." Dr. Coenen

Nominated by: Anonymous

She is kind and understanding and often works with our students when they are at their lowest point. She is a crucial part of the mental health services on campus."

April

Winner: Imani Broadnax

Nominated by: Anonymous

“Student involvement is a critical part of the student experience on any campus. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities help students connect and feel at home. At MSU, there has been an exceptional amount of turnover in this area. Imani has both stepped up as a leader while also building an exceptional student team. This group has worked to ensure students still have things to do on weekends, they have upheld campus traditions like Homecoming and Finals Frenzy, and they have done so with Imani as the only full-time staff member in this area. The late nights, extensive coordination of activities, and the time needed to develop students in a way where they can fill these roles is incredible. Imani has continued to show up and to do this without complaint despite the lack of people power in her space. Furthermore, anyone who interacts with the students Imani supervises can see the investment she has made in them. Not only are they capable of executing as planned, but you can see how she works to develop their critical thinking skills, planning skills, and leadership skills. Simply put, we don't deserve Imani.”

May
