Get a good night's rest at MSU Texas before the big race!

The Office of Residence Life and Housing at Midwestern State University is offering temporary housing for vendors and racers participating in the Hotter'n Hell Hundred. Guests will be housed in Pierce Hall located on the MSU Texas campus. Guests can make reservations for the nights of August 24 - 26, 2023 with a two-night minimum. The cost of housing will be $30 per person per night for a double room and $60 per night for a private room.

Located only 6 minutes from the Hotter'n Hell Hundred starting line and downtown event locations, Pierce Hall offers a convenient place to rest while staying close to the weekend's activities. Pierce Hall's double rooms feature a "Z" shaped layout that offers a sense of privacy while rooming with another guest. The option for private rooms is also available. Each community has multiple semi-private bathrooms with a sink, toilet, and shower contained in one room. These restrooms are similar to small apartment restrooms but are shared with everyone on the floor at a rate of 1 bathroom for every 5-6 beds.

Pierce Hall room layout blueprint. The room is a 'Z' shaped room creating semi-private spaces for the two students residing there. There are two sides to the room the window side and door side that are connected by a walkway. This is where the in-room sink/ vanity, micro-fridge, and microwave are located. Each side is a mirror image of the other and contains a loft bed, dresser, and desk which can be rearranged to fit the student's personal design. Both sides contain a large built-in closet. The sun is setting on a drone view of Mustangs Walk and the residence halls. Mustangs walk, seen in the foreground, is a brick mosaic walking path featuring the three mustangs logo and a brick path cutting between the Residence Hall area and the Clark Student Center. To the left, the first building connected to the Mustangs Walk by a concrete path is Pierce Hall. The main east entrance can be seen against the MSU Texas brick exterior with large trees on either side of the door. A smaller courtyard divides Pierce from Killingsworth Hall on the right. Killingsworth is also connected to Mustangs Walk. Large trees obscure the view of Killingsworth's east entrance. Legacy Hall can be seen directly behind Pierce. The entire scene is lit by streaks of golden sunlight from the setting sun. Pierce Hall's exterior east entrance on a fall day. Pierce Hall is being viewed from a harsh diagonal angle from the right-hand side of the building with the main entrance just off-center. The white columns that line the entrance contrast against the iconic MSU Texas red brick. Three steps lead up to the entrance as well as a ramp running from the entrance off-camera to the right. The trees on either side of the entrance are losing their orange and brown leaves. The harsh fall light is streaming through the branches of the tree on the right which is angled just above the viewer's head. The residential parking lot and a lamppost can be seen on the left of the picture. Pierce Hall's first-floor lounge interior. A television is mounted on the left wall directly across from the entrance to the lounge in the center of the room. It is surrounded by wood coaches with maroon cushions and a coffee table creating a sitting area. Along the right wall by the door are two additional chairs. In the back area of the room, an exterior door to a small courtyard can be seen along with high-top seating for four people and a vending machine. Pierce Hall interior room. This is the view from the door looking towards the 'A' side of the room. A dresser with a lamp sits against the right wall next to an XL Twin bed. There is a long strip light on the wall that is illuminating the space. The bed sits between the right wall and the built-in closet taking up the entire space along the far wall. The closet has a built-in shelf with 6 cubical spaces and several pairs of shoes take up half of the top shelf that runs along the length of the closet. Clothes hang from three different bars, two on either side of the six shelves in the center and a third that runs along the bottom left-hand corner. The room extends off-camera to the left. Three students are hanging out in a Pierce/Killingsworth 'Z' shaped room on the 'B' side. One student is laying on a lofted bed facing the other two students. One is leaning against the desk against the left-hand wall and the other is sitting in the desk chair. A large window can be seen behind the students along the back wall. You can just make out the in-room sink and microwave that takes up the space between sides 'A' and 'B'.
