MUN Rules & Procedures

The Midwestern State University Model United Nations High School Invitational Conference was created to provide an opportunity to area high school students to develop leadership skills while learning more about the workings of the United Nations. In preparation for the conference, students research their countries foreign policy positions on key issues, learn basic parliamentary procedures and committee rules, and then put these into practice at the conference. The MSU Texas High School Invitational Conference provides students the unique opportunity to learn negotiation and consensus building skills during deliberations to create resolutions that address selected global problems. During their participation in the conference, students develop their research, writing, public speaking, negotiation, and consensus building skills. Throughout the conference students are encouraged to collaborate and work respectfully with all attendees.
